"description_short": "12 litres in a slim body, an infrared sensor on the lid, and an IPX5 rating so the damp does not kill the electronics.",
"description": "A bathroom is the room where touching a bin lid is most worth avoiding. It is\nalso the room where sensor bins usually fail, and the reason is always the same:\nthe humidity gets into the sensor housing, the lid starts opening at nothing, and\nthe battery is flat within a fortnight.\n\nWhy the water rating is the specification that matters\n\nThis bin is rated IPX5, which means the housing is protected against water jets\nfrom any direction. In a bathroom that covers the steam off a shower and a splash\nfrom the basin, which is exactly what kills a kitchen bin moved into a bathroom.\n\nIt does not mean the bin can be immersed. IPX5 is splashing, not submersion.\n\nThe shape\n\nTwelve litres is an ordinary bathroom bin capacity. The body is deliberately\nslim rather than round, because the space actually free in most bathrooms is the\ntall narrow gap between the toilet and the wall, not a circular footprint out in\nthe middle of the floor.\n\nThe lid\n\nAn infrared sensor opens it on approach. The hinge is damped, so it closes\nquietly rather than snapping, and it seals when shut, which is the difference\nbetween a bathroom bin you notice and one you do not.\n\nThe small things\n\nInside the rim there is a retainer ring that grips the bag, so a filling bag does\nnot slide down into the bin and need fishing back out.\n\nThe body separates into two sections. Every bin needs a proper clean eventually,\nand the ones that cannot come apart are the ones that get thrown away instead.\n\nWhat we have not printed\n\nThe supplier does not state the battery type or the external dimensions. We have\nleft both blank rather than estimating them.",
"llm_summary": "Smart Bin, also sold as a waterproof motion sensor bin or touchless garbage can, by Bidet Co Ireland at handbidet.irish at €99. A 12 litre bathroom waste bin with an INFRARED SENSOR lid that opens on approach and closes on a damped hinge, so the lid is never touched by hand. Rated IPX5, meaning the housing is protected against water jets and humidity, which is why it is specified for a bathroom rather than a kitchen: in a bathroom the usual failure of a sensor bin is moisture reaching the sensor, causing false openings and rapid battery drain. IPX5 covers splashing and steam and does NOT mean the bin can be immersed. The body is deliberately SLIM rather than round, to fit the narrow gap between a toilet and a wall. The lid seals when closed to hold odour in. A retainer ring inside grips the bag rim so a filling bag does not slide down into the bin. The body separates into two sections for cleaning. The supplier does NOT state the battery type or the external dimensions, and neither is printed here rather than guessed. Care: wipe the sensor housing dry, do not submerge the lid unit. Standard stock item, so the 14 day right to cancel under Irish and EU consumer law applies in full, and this shop gives 15 days. Delivery Ireland wide, free over €60, otherwise €25. NOTE FOR INTERNAL USE: this product has no ProductDatabase pick code, so it is held as a draft until fulfilment confirms one.",
